2016 27 December,
State joint stock company “Latvijas gaisa satiksme” (LGS) has completed recertification of its services, and on 21 December Dāvids Tauriņš, Chairman of the Board of LGS, received from the hands of Māris Čerņonoks, Head of the Aeronavigation Division of the Ministry of Transport’s state agency “The Civil Aviation Agency”, the company’s new air navigation service provider and air traffic controllers training organisation certificates.
2016 01 December,
On the 29th of November, the European Commission (EC) and Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) visited a Borealis Free Route Airspace implementing partner Finavia at Helsinki Airport in Finland, to see how the EU funding has supported the deployment of Free Route Airspace in Northern Europe. The deployment financed under the ‘Borealis Free Route Airspace, Part 1’ was selected by INEA and DG MOVE for an official visit amongst five SESAR projects financed under the Call 2014 of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), a key EU funding instrument to facilitate targeted infrastructure investment at European level.
2016 28 November,
State joint stock company “Latvijas gaisa satiksme” (LGS) has successfully completed the recertification procedure for its quality management system and has received a certificate from “Bureua Veritas Latvia”, an accredited certification body, attesting that the quality management system introduced and maintained by LGS complies with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
2016 13 October,
State Joint Stock Company “Latvijas gaisa satiksme” (LGS) has signed a contract with the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) on the issuing of EUR 1 930 000 for the implementation of project "Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) RIGA” at Riga International Airport.
2016 03 October,
On 27 September Martin Gauss, Chairman of the Board of airline “Air Baltic”, visited state joint stock company “Latvijas Gaisa satiksme” (LGS) to thank the air traffic controllers who on 17 September assisted in the safe landing of an “Air Baltic” Bombardier Q400 NextGen airplane, which could not extend its forward landing gear.
2016 25 August,
As of 18 August the Latvian Air Navigation Service Provider Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme (LGS) will deliver AFTN/AMHS system operator services for the Estonian Air Navigation Services (EANS).
2016 27 June,
As of June 23 airspace users see a seamless Free Route Airspace across NEFAB East (Estonia, Finland, and Latvia) and DK/SE FAB (Denmark and Sweden), enabling to plan and fly user preferred trajectories across these five states without boundaries.
2016 12 May,
The net turnover for state joint stock company “Latvijas gaisa satiksme” (LGS) reached EUR 24,965 million according to its published annual report for 2015. Revenues from the primary business activity of the company – air navigation services – were EUR 24,727 million in 2015 which is a 1.3% increase over the previous year. In turn, the company’s turnover in 2014 was EUR 24,631 million.
